Woman gets 8 years for drug trafficking

An Ironton woman will spend the next eight years in prison for trafficking in oxycodone pills.

Rebecca Allen, 44, of 915 1/2 Park Ave., pleaded guilty to second-degree aggravated trafficking in drugs and third-degree trafficking in drugs, from a prior indictment, Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

The charges stem from a September raid of Allen’s home by the Lawrence County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, Ironton Police and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

More than $1,900 in cash and in oxycodone pills valued at more than $13,000 were confiscated from the residence.

Judge D. Scott Bowling also ordered Allen to pay a $10,000 fine and suspended her driver’s license for one year.
