Drugs, guns, bomb found during raid of apartment

Multiple packages of cocaine, a stolen handgun and a homemade bomb were found during a raid of an apartment on Findlay’s west side Wednesday, the Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force reported.

Carl M. Johns, 29, was arrested for a parole violation after the task force searched 10245 U.S. 224, Apt. 5, around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, the task force reported.

About 28 packages of suspected cocaine, cash, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles, criminal tools, ammunition and two handguns, one of which was reportedly stolen from Allen County, were located. Authorities said a homemade explosive device also was found, and the Lima-Allen County Regional Bomb Squad was called to detonate it.

Numerous charges are expected to be filed after laboratory tests and further investigation, the task force reported.

Assisting at the scene were the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.
