Police officer admitted to using his status to obtain drugs

A former South Point police officer admitted to using his status to obtain drugs Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Aaron Fradd, 28, of 426 Fourth St. West Apt. 61, South Point, was arraigned on a bill of information and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of compounding a crime.

According to Lawrence County Prosecutor-elect Brigham Anderson, Fradd attempted to obtain steroids from a suspect, saying he would not charge the man with a crime if he handed over the drugs.

The Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force conducted an undercover investigation into the incident, resulting in Fradd admitting to the crime and his termination from the South Point Police Department
