Ashtabula man accused of possessing 2 kilograms of heroin in Painesville Township
An Ashtabula man was arrested on April 6, after a month-long investigation, for allegedly possessing 2 kilograms of heroin.
James L. Sallee Sr., of 1210 W. Sixth Street, was arrested in Painesville Township after a joint investigation by the Lake County Narcotics Agency, the Painesville Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release from the Lake County Narcotics Agency Director David Frisone.
According to Painesville Municipal Court records, the arrest occurred at 1492 Madison Ave.
Police allegedly found about 2 kilograms of heroin and 2 pounds of marijuana, which in total have a street value “well over $75,000,” Frisone said.
Police also seized more than $3,500 in cash and a vehicle.
Sallee appeared in Painesville Municipal Court on April 7 and was charged with first-degree felony drug possession, according to court records.
Judge Michael Cicconetti set bond at $1 million surety or 10 percent cash. A preliminary hearing is set for April 13, court records showed. Frisone said additional charges are pending.
