Man brings teen daughter to drug deal

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three men were arrested while carrying out a drug deal in a West Side motel with one of the men’s 13-year-old daughter in tow.

Jaime Ruiz-Montes, 42, of Las Vegas has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin and his daughter is in the custody of Franklin County Children Services after Ruiz-Montes and two other men were arrested at a motel on Hilliard-Rome Road, near I-70, Monday, Sheriff Zach Scott said.

Marcos Osorio, 34, of Columbus, and Benjamin Uribe-Cervantes, 37, were also charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin, Scott said.

Cervantes’ home address was not known.

Scott says Franklin County Drug Task Force officers and DEA agents investigating a large heroin-trafficking operation with the Ohio State Highway Patrol watched the three men enter the hotel where investigators believed they were planning to exchange about two kilograms of heroin, worth an estimated $150,000.

The three appeared in federal court on Tuesday.
