Marion County drug bust yields 4 pounds of pot, $134,000 cash

Local law enforcement have seized about four pounds of marijuana and $134,000 in cash during a bust of a marijuana trafficking operation in the county, according to the MARMET Drug Task Force.

Law enforcement carried out a search warrant Friday in the 4500 block of Irvin Shoots Road West, during which they seized the money, drugs, five firearms, four vehicles and a trailer, according to a news release sent by Marion Police Lt. Chris Adkins, supervisor of the MARMET Drug Task Force.

The warrant was obtained following a "very lengthy" investigation into suspected marijuana trafficking, the release says.

Investigators did not release any suspect information, as charges are still pending, the release said.

The search warrant was carried out by members of the MARMET Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the release says.
