North Ridgeville Police discover meth lab

Police discovered more than a wanted woman Monday while responding to a complaint of a suspicious condition.
According to Lt. Greg Petek, officers were dispatched to 33124 Glenwood Court at 10:39 a.m. when a resident of the home called to report someone possibly living in an attic above the garage.

When they arrived, officers found Conni Miller, 27, hiding out in the attic with the resident’s son Robert Reed, 37, according to Petek.

Petek said Reed had been hiding the woman in the attic for about a week without his parents’ knowledge.

During the call, the detective bureau and agents from the Lorain County Drug Task Force were called to the scene after officers discovered an active methamphetamine lab in the attic, Petek said.

Police discovered indicators and components of manufacturing meth in both the attic and garage. Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations mobile response team removed the lab, Petek said.

Reed was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers recovered items used for smoking meth. Miller was arrested on outstanding warrants with the North Ridgeville and Avon police departments.
