Summit County Drug Unit removes material from Stow house where meth lab exploded

Two men were taken to the burn unit of Akron Children's Hospital after a methamphetamine lab exploded Wednesday night.

Stow police and firefighters were called to a duplex on Mac Drive just before 8 p.m. for an explosion.

Police said a 29-year-old Stow men and a 28-year-old Middlefield man were in that side of the duplex at the time of the blast. Both men suffered burns to their hands and feet.

The Summit County Drug Unit responded to explosion and removed materials for evaluation.

The residents from the other side of the building were not home at the time. Police said the duplex has been quarantined.

No charges have been filed.
