Two people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a methamphetamine operation. Officers from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, along with Bucyrus and Galion Police departments, METRICH Enforcement Unit, Huron County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Clandestine Lab Unit served a search warrant at 8023 Ohio 3, Plymouth.

More arrests were made following a two-year federal investigation of a drug trafficking ring within the county. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced Thursday that more than three dozen people are now facing charges as a result of a large-scale investigation focusing on the trafficking and possession of drugs in Marion.

Two people were arrested this morning as Seneca County Drug Task Force - METRICH Enforcement Unit executed a drug-related search warrant at Willow Creek Apartments, Apt. G9. Brady Cornett, 23, was charged with possession of heroin, and Chelsa Chaney, 22, was charged with trafficking in heroin.

A faster way of making methamphetamine is leading to more meth labs, police say. Ohio ranked fourth in the country in 2013 as authorities uncovered 1,010 labs, chemicals and glassware used in the drug’s cooking process. Indiana was first, followed by Tennessee and Missouri.
